The parent’s dilemma

Bored in class, or falling behind?

A classroom moves at one pace for a whole room. Homeschooling alone puts it all on you. There is a third way — real structure and real community, with a plan built around your child.

Our approach

No child held to someone else’s pace.

A classroom moves one speed for everyone. We place each child by what they’ve mastered — then let them climb at their own pace.

Placed by mastery, not by birthday — so every child is challenged, and no child is written off.

Find your child's pace

The partnership

The support of a school. The freedom of home.

Three things every family gets from day one — the reason homeschooling here feels less like going it alone and more like joining a school.

Structured support

You are not doing this alone. We bring the plan, the materials, and the teachers. You bring your child. Every week has a shape, and there is always someone to call.

  • A weekly plan, laid out for you
  • Materials and lessons handled
  • Teachers who know your child by name

Personalized pacing

Every child gets a plan built around what they have mastered — not their birthday. Race ahead in the subjects that click; take the time you need in the ones that do not.

  • Placed by mastery, not age
  • Move ahead or catch up, subject by subject
  • No child bored, no child left behind

Meaningful community

Co-op days, friendships, performances, and field trips. Your child learns at home and belongs somewhere — with kids and families who share your faith.

  • On-campus support and co-op days
  • Friendships and performances
  • Families who share your values

Meaningful community

Learning at home. Belonging somewhere.

Co-op days, friendships, and performances mean your child isn’t learning in isolation. They grow up beside kids and families who share your faith and your hopes for them.

Programs

One school, every path a child might need.

From full-time partnership to summer catch-up to a college head start — mix and match what fits your family this year.

How it works

Now enrolling — call to check current openings.

No confusing enrollment maze. Four simple steps — starting with one phone call — and your child begins at exactly the right place.

01Step one

Call us

One conversation. Tell us about your child — where they shine, where they struggle, and what you are hoping for.

02Step two

We assess & place

A friendly assessment shows exactly where your child is in each subject, so the plan starts from the truth — not a guess.

03Step three

Build the plan

We create a personalized plan for every subject — materials, milestones, and a teacher assigned to your family.

04Step four

Join the community

Support days on campus, co-op activities, and a community that has your back. Your child learns at their pace from day one.

Rooted in faith

Built on the belief that all children can learn.

We believe every child is made on purpose, for a purpose. That conviction shapes how we teach — with patience, high standards, and grace — and it is why families across Kapolei trust us with what matters most.

Faith is not a subject we tack on. It is the reason we refuse to write a child off, the reason we meet each one where they are, and the reason we keep going until it clicks.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Our story

One teacher, four students, one stubborn belief.

Kapolei Christian Academy began in 2000 with one teacher and four students. Linda Sofa, a reading specialist, believed no child should be written off for not fitting one mold — and built a school around meeting each one where they are.

What started as Sofa-So-Good Learning Center grew into Corvid Academy, and today into Kapolei Christian Academy. New name, same heart: personalized pacing, a Christ-centered community, and results that follow the child.

Come see for yourself. Visit a support day, meet our teachers, and watch how your child could learn — no pressure, just a conversation.
